Women-In-WACREN

This first training workshop and community event “Women in WACREN” is organised in collaboration with SenChix, an association of women working in the field of technology, in collaboration with snRER, the Faculty of Science and Technology of Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) and the AfricaConnect2 project.

Building on a broader culture of action and hacker spaces within the National Networks of Education and Research (NREN), the event will launch a program to address current imbalances by increasing women's participation. It will support female students and professionals in enhancing their STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) skills through hands-on experimentation with robots and electronics, teaching them how to program these devices.

The participants will conclude their 5-day training workshop with a community day organized by Senchix, a networking opportunity open to faculty and guests from other women's technical centers, with participation from government institutions and businesses.
